Install Android 4.3 on your Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505), ported from Google Play Edition (GT-I9505G)

We have obtained the first Android 4.3 test build firmware for the Google Play Edition Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505G). We wanted to test out Android 4.3 but didn’t had the Google variant of the Galaxy S4 with us, so we ported it to our standard Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) and got some outstanding results.
Android 4.3 port from the Google Play Edition Galaxy S4 isfully functional on the standard Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505), there is not even a single thing which isn’t working. We haven’t made any changes to the port, so it’s 100% original with zero changes.
Note:
- This is not flashable through Odin.
- This will void your warranty.
- Don’t attempt this if you don’t have the skills to flash a custom ROM
- You are doing this on your own risk

Google hasn’t made Android 4.3 public yet, but it’s good to know that OEMs already have access to the source code. Early access will result in quick software updates and less Android fragmentation. Keep in mind, Android 4.3 is still in development phases and does not have all the features which are yet to be implemented.

Android 4.3 Available for Galaxy S4 Owners

Google’s worst-kept secret is the upcoming Android 4.3 update for devices powered by its mobile OS (though a lot more secrets have come to light recently), and we’re starting to see that update make its way to the handsets of owners who aren’t afraid to experiment. SamMobile reports this morning that Android 4.3 has been spotted on both the Google Play Edition and the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S4, and should work fine on both for users who aren’t afraid to mess around with flashing their ROM and voiding their warranty.

Android 4.3 was first spotted by SamMobile running on the Snapdragon Galaxy S4, which is a version that’s normally running Samsung’s own modified Google OS. Screens depicted an updated camera interface, as well as some other interface tweaks, but by and large the look of 4.3 is very similar to the look of 4.2, the current version of Jelly Bean and the latest officially acknowledged by Google.

According to another report from WSJ, Google is feverishly working on finishing up Android 4.3 and releasing it and is planning on dropping Android Key Lime Pie (perhaps version 5.0) on the scene this fall. According to sources the next Android iteration (KLP, not JB) will be "better tailored to the lower-cost smartphones".

Reportedly Google is even developing low-cost devices on its own, without OEM branding.

And while we're talking rumors WSJ learned from unknown sources that Google is developing a smartwatch device and gaming console, both revolving around the Android platform. Seeing how much traction the OUYA console gained and that smart wristwatches are all over the news lately, we would hardly be surprised if Google wants to join the bandwagon. There's also talk of an upcoming second generation Nexus Q home entertainment device.

However there are a lot of ifs and buts, and uncertainties in the information so you should take it with a pinch of salt.

Indian smartphone vendor, in partnership with Chinese company Coolpad, has launched the Spice Coolpad MI-515 and the phablet will be available through e-commerce and retail stores across the country for Rs 9,990. Spice Coolpad Mi-515 sports a 5.0-inch display with resolution of 540X960 pixels. The smartphone packs in 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. There is a 4GB of internal storage available on the smartphone, which can be further expanded by up to 32GB via a microSD card.

Spice Coolpad MI-515 is a dual-SIM smartphone with dual standby, which supports 3G connectivity on one SIM. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system and comes with a 2,000mAh battery for good backup. For camera, there is a 5-megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash at the rear with good picture quality and a VGA snapper in the front for video calling as skype.

A friend lost her iPhone at a party over the weekend and had "Find My iPhone" on her device, but wasn't set up over iCloud! You need both, folks, so head over to www.icloud.com and set up an account and do the same in your phone under Settings (in Mail, Calendars, Contacts).
